Ocean Outdoor
The Gallery
Ocean Outdoor is a company who owns digital advertising screen in public spaces.
Their branch in the Netherlands launched The Gallery to showcase work from selected artists. Because they needed some original content to advertise the project, they asked me to create multiple short animations with various themes.
The Netherlands
I tried to capture some of the most iconic cultural elements of the Netherlands and turned them into something surprising and fun.
Food
You won't be surprised if I say Netherlands doesn't rhyme with gastronomy.
However, they have wide range of snacks and you can easily find cuisine from all around the world.
Why not try these weird makis with some interesting... ingredients.
Fashion
Public digital screens are often located in shopping centers, so of course, I had to make make a few animations in this topic.
Don't be tricked by this claw crane machine, the big prize can be... Surprising!
Process
I worked directly with Ocean Outdoor to create these animations. It was a long work of research and development to find so many ideas (plus all the ideas I didn't produce). I've chosen to showcase some of the 16 animations I made here, the one I'm the proudest of.
It was challenging because I tried and experimented a lot of techniques like liquid and clothes simulations, utilization of motion capture data and particles. The animations were done in Cinema 4D and I used X-Particles for the liquid and particle simulations. All the sequences were rendered using Octane Render.
R&D
Test renders of inflating fabric objects.
